This event looks at the thinking and planning process behind the
development of a great web site for your
business. It explores the issues that separate good sites from bad, looks
at the discipline that is
Usability, touches on some of the key legislative issues that web site owners face
and looks at some of
the options for web site development
Web Site
Marketing
Having a great website is just part of the battle - getting traffic to the
site (and understanding that traffic)
is the next step. This event looks in detail at Search Engine Optimisation,
the discipline of making your
site search engine friendly to maximise your chance of a decent position. It
then goes on to explore other
web marketing options including Pay per Click (aka Sponsored Links, Google
Adwords and PPC) and
touches on email and viral marketing opportunities.
Guerrilla
e-Marketing
The Guerrilla e-marketing event looks at the phenomenon that is YouTube
and the internet networking
sites (both social networks like FaceBook and MySpace and business networks like
LinkedIn and
Ecademy) and explores ways that they can be put to effective use by businesses. The
event then takes
a detailed look at email marketing and SMS (text message) marketing.
Internet and PC
Security
The purpose of this event is to raise your awareness of a number of issues
surrounding PC and internet
security. Looking at password security, data security, the threat posed by
viruses and junk emails and
some of the more seditious ways that people may gain access to your data or
steal your hardware,
ending with a reminder of some of the fundamental PC housekeeping routines that you can
use to ensure
your IT infrastructure is kept in tip top condition
Google
This relatively short presentation explores the modern day phenomenon that
is Google, where it came
from, what it does, how it makes money and where it may be going in the future.
